We've got not just 200, but 358 NEW FANS for Hanamikoji and Geisha's Road! The wooden lantern starting player marker is now unlocked for each copy of Geisha's Road!
If you just found this update and haven't become a fan of Hanamikoji and Geisha's Road, please remember to do that. The more fans and traffic to the game page on BoardGameGeek, the more exposure we may have to attract new backers and unlock more stretch goals!
Designer Diary
Talking about the traffic to the game page, our co-designer Jerry Chiang has composed a couple of designer diaries on the game forum on BGG. Social StretchGoal - Become A Fan on BGG!
At the beginning of this campaign, we didn’t put up any “social stretch goals." We thought about doing that but we were not sure if we have enough backers who are willing to “click on the button” to either share our campaign on social media or become a fan of the games on BoardGameGeek. It will be a bit embarrassing if the goals are not met, isn't it...?
Now that we've got 2000 backers. Some of you guys and girls must be a fan of our games, right? ;)
Maybe it's time to give it a try?
If we can have 200 new fans of Geisha's Road or Hanamikoji, we will unlock the first social stretch goal -- a wooden lantern starting player marker!
To become a fan of the game is very simple:
Head over to the game page on BGG
Find the heart icon on the lower-right corner of the header
Click on the HEART to become a fan!
Currently, we have 71 fans of Geisha's Road and 476 fans of Hanamikoji. If we can have 200 new fans of these 2 games combined, the wooden lantern token will be yours!
If we have enough people visiting the game pages, they will climb up on the BGG Hotness ranking, which will help the games get more exposure. The algorism is a mystery, but the more traffic the games have, the better chances they will be seen by more people. And we may have more backers on board to help unlock more stretch goals!

7 Geisha Promos and Twin Promo of Shadows in Kyoto Available Now!

It’s been a while since our last update! Sorry for being a bit quiet, but we’re still active in the Comments section and our Discord server though.

Playtesting
The past week was more about playtesting the Special Item Promo cards and Geisha'sGrowth Promo tiles (the next stretch goal to be unlocked!). We were also playing around with other potential gameplay-related stuff such as solo rules, Action Tile drafting, a new twist of the “I-Cut-You-Choose” mechanic, etc. There are too many ideas in our designers’ heads. Sometimes we need to stop them from sidetracking too much. But if there is any solid and fun discovery, we will let you know! :)
Playmat
After reaching 1,500 backers, we’ve started to ask for quotes for the playmat, which was brought up by quite a few backers here. So, we will see what we can do to make it happen (as an add-on). But beware, the overall weight and dimensions of the playmat are greater than the games. So the shipping costs will be another issue we need to tackle… Maybe we will put up a poll for you to help us make some decisions after we gather more information.

If you’re inclined to acquire one as an add-on, please leave a comment to let us know what you would imagine about the design, functionality, material, dimensions, and price of the playmat that we should offer here.
Geisha Promo Cards
The 7 Geisha Promo cards are available as an add-on now!
Actually, not just 7. The Twin Promo for Shadows in Kyoto will also be unlocked directly and added to the KS Goodies pack!
So, each copy of Hanamikoji will come with the KS Goodies ($19, $39, $59, and $89 tiers). If you didn't pledge for a copy of Hanamikoji but you have Shadows in Kyoto as the add-on, you will also get the Twin Promo card.
Usually, the individual promo card was sold at $3 each or 2 for $5 at conventions. Now you can have all 7+1 promo cards for just $7 during this KS campaign. Remember to click on the “Manage Your Pledge” button and add the KS Goodies into your pledge!

60K! New Stretch Goals, FAQ, and Two Simple Moves to Promote This Campaign!

It's a number that we aimed to achieve but didn't expect it to happen within ONE WEEK! Your tremendous support is amazing! THANK YOU!
After a short break in the weekend, we are back with more stretch goals in the pipeline. And here are the next two for you!
Stretch Goals
EmperorS4 had previously released the short stories about the 7 Geisha in Hanamikoji (you can find it on BGG HERE, though the translation wasn't well polished...). And during the development of Geisha's Road, we have been thinking about how we can create some thematic gameplay based on the characteristics of these geisha (hint: different abilities?). We love the vibe of their background stories so much that we would love to create a new version of the story sheet to share with our backers. We hope you will love to know these geisha more as we do. :)
The $70k stretch goal is the third Special Guest. The artwork will be created by Maisherly and we will wrap up the rules for the unlocked Item cards and Special Guests in another article or Update. Or maybe it's about time to make another video since Eros will be released from his 14-day quarantine tomorrow! Hooray!

Two Simple Moves to Promote this Campaign
We picked up some momentum yesterday (picture below) thanks to the traffic from Alex (BoardgameCo) and William (Hungary Gamer) for mentioning our campaign as well as all our backers and friends who help spread the word! We would like to ask you to keep mentioning and promoting this campaign to help us unlock more stretch goals so that your KS version of Hanamikoji & Geisha's Road will be off-the-chart AWESOME!
If you found the above picture pretty darn cool and don't know what it's all about, it's time for you to know Kicktraq (LINK)! It's a website that tracks the daily information of every Kickstarter campaign. Project creators can get some insight from the data (but don't be overly optimistic about the project projection and trending number though...).
And the first simple move to help promote our campaign is to follow along with the progress and share the link with your friends and talk about how excited you are about our campaign. With all your help, we might stand a chance to hit the high mark on the projection graph. :)
The second simple move is pretty straightforward. Find The BoardGameGeek pages of Hanamikoji (magical portal HERE) and Geisha's Road (another portal HERE), click on the HEART ICON to "Become a Fan," which will help the games climb up the Hotness list on the main page and boost the exposure of our games to more gamers!
