Here in Taiwan, we will celebrate the Year of the Rabbit this weekend and the following week with our loved ones. We'd also like to extend our joy and happiness to all of our backers! But before we soak ourselves into the full holiday mode, here are some quick updates for you:
1. The games have arrived at Funagain Games' warehouse in the US. We know some of you are worried about the recent announcement from Funagain Logistics that they will end their fulfillment service in March. However, our campaign will not be affected. FunAgain has reached out to our team and said we should expect deliveries throughout the month of February. Tracking numbers will be provided to backers.
2. The games have arrived at customs in the UK and Europe. GamesQuest is preparing for the fulfillment process now. Backers in Europe should expect your parcel to show up soon.
3. There are a few returned pledges from our air shipments - if you were impacted, the EmperorS4 team will reach out to you by email.

Dear backers,
We are just coming back from the holiday break and we hoped all of you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
As mentioned, all pledges via air have been sent out from Taiwan. Backers expecting air should have received your pledge. We hope you have got the chance to play the game with your loved ones! If you haven't received it (most likely due to customs delay or it takes a longer route of transit to your country), the parcel should be dispatched to you soon after the long holidays.
For backers with ocean freight, the pallets have arrived at the port in Los Angeles and our forwarder said the customs/port will resume their work this week. After our fulfillment partner receives the pallets we will be able to provide a clearer update. Ocean shipments to Europe and UK are still underway, but due to port congestion in previous stops in China, the vessels should arrive slightly behind schedule.
After sending out all the pledges, EmperorS4 Games said that the gameplay-related unlocked stretch goals (i.e., Goodies #2) are out of stock. At this juncture, they don't plan on reprinting the SGs, so we hope you have a good time playing Geisha's Road with those exclusive extras. How to Play Tutorial
While we hope our rulebook is pretty straightforward, Peaky Boardgamer has provided a great How to Play video specifically for the final post-Kickstarter production version you will receive. While expansions and additional stretch goals aren't included, he covers all the basics on setup and gameplay, accompanied with clear visuals and graphics. Be sure to turn on Klingon subtitles for some minor corrections.

This is another update on our fulfillment progress. We have 1513 pledges loaded onto the vessel Toledo Triumph to ship to Los Angeles. The ETA is 12/17 and you can track the progress here. Originally we were targeting a ship with an earlier ETA, but our shipping forwarder has come back and said the schedules have moved and this is currently our best option.

Once the ship lands in Los Angeles, all North American pledges that did not go direct via air will be picked up by Funagain Games for local distribution. Unfortunately, given the holiday rush and potential disruption by rail (we are not shipping by rail, but this may still impact available trucking capacity), Funagain said it is unlikely that the pledges can be delivered prior to Christmas. More likely, North America pledges will be delivered in early Jan.
We also have some updates for Europe and UK. We currently anticipate pledges for both geographies to be loaded onto the shipping vessel in the coming week (1st week of December), with arrival by early to mid January. As a result, both Continental Europe and the UK are likely to get the pledges by late-January, due to the travel time and additional stops on the route. We discussed the potential for sending UK earlier, but given the ship will have landed around the time of the Christmas holidays, our fulfillment partners do not have staff to support at that time, and we held off shipment until the next available schedule.
As mentioned earlier, all pledges going by air should have gone out. If you have not received your pledge yet, please email EmperorS4 at [email protected]. There have been some disruptions due to COVID in China, so it is possible that your package may be stuck in transit until those situations have been resolved.

A few of you had asked about how to assemble the insert for the Hanamikoji Action Tiles expansion as well as remove the bookcase sleeve. For those interested, we have put together a quick video that may be of help!

TightBookcase Sleeves
On some copies, we have heard the bookcase sleeve may be a bit tight. The easiest way to get it out may be to lift the copy up by the sleeve with your fingers, then press down on the bookcase with your thumbs, letting gravity do its work to slide the bookcase out. If you have any questions with your copy, please let us know.
Missing Shadows in Kyoto Promo Card
For those of you that have received Goodies #1 either as an add-on or as part of your pledge, we realize that we are missing the Shadows in Kyoto Promo Card. We are sorry about that. Here is a direct message from the EmperorS4 on this issue:

When we were making the files for Goodies #1, we forgot to put in the Twin Promo Card as it's from Shadows in Kyoto while the others are from Hanamikoji. We were unaware of this oversight until the recent messages from you backers.We apologize for the carelessness and negligence. If the missing card bothers you deeply, we still have few limited copies to offer. Please contact us via at【[email protected]】and let us know your address. We will consider ways to make it up to you. Missing Herbalism 2-Player Card
We also noted while we included the card for the 2v2 variant in Herbalism, the 2-player rules are missing. We are also sorry for that oversight too. Please reach out to EmperorS4 (service @emperors4.com) if you have any questions or need any help on this as well.
Extra Herbalism Communication Card
Note the Goodies #2 pack accidentally includes an extra Communication Card for Herbalism. You can ignore that card as it is irrelevant for those of you that don't have Herbalism, and for those of you that purchased, another copy should also come included with the 2v2 rules.

EmperorS4 is booking the boat now and will have a clear date next week. Currently early looks at the boat schedules suggest US and UK backers should receive their pledge in December, while continental Europe should get theirs in January. This is primarily due to the lower scheduled availability for boats to Europe and the additional stops on the way. If you are getting a shipment by ocean and anticipate a move before the above schedule, or if you have any questions about your pledge shipment, please email EmperorS4 ([email protected]) directly for a prompt reply.
